Earthy and joyful at once. A rich olive-green wool ground is set with rows of squares and diamonds in red, orange, cobalt and cream, edged with fine zigzags. It brings the colors of an Atlas spring – moss, poppies and sky – straight into your home.

Why you'll love it

  • Unusual base color – green kilims are rare and instantly memorable.
  • Grounded yet lively – pairs beautifully with wood, terracotta and brass.
  • Dense, durable weave made for everyday living.

Style it

Lay it in a Moroccan salon with white sedari and a brass tea tray, under a reading chair with plants, or in a study with dark wood and leather.

The heritage of the Moroccan kilim

A kilim (in Morocco often called hanbel) is a flat-woven rug with no pile: the coloured weft threads are packed tightly over the warp to form the design. Amazigh weavers across the Middle and High Atlas have made them for centuries as floor rugs, blankets, tent dividers and saddle covers.

The flat weave favours geometry: bands, stripes, diamonds, triangles and small symbols arranged in horizontal registers. Patterns are passed down from mother to daughter and vary from one tribe and valley to the next.

Light, reversible on many pieces and easy to move, the Moroccan kilim is ideal for dining rooms, hallways and busy family spaces.
